Voting in the next election:

  • The UK Government explains how to register to vote
  • Here's our summary: to vote, you need to be listed ahead of time on the Electoral Roll.
  • If you believe you might not be able to go to your voting place on election day, you can ask at any time to be registered for postal voting. This means you'll get all your voting slips in the mail at the address where you're registered. Fill each slip out and send it back so it will count on election day.
  • With a postal vote, you don't need a photo ID like a passport, driving license, or any other special photo ID that you would normally have to show at the voting place.
  • If you want to keep your information private, you can ask for your name to not be shown to the public or to businesses that use the list for ads.
  • Remember, you can't vote if you don't sign up at your Local Electoral Office before the election. It's good to do this early to avoid being in a hurry!
  • Please Email The Common People any time if you need more help.
